Plastic pollution is a growing problem and an issue Watertrek is solidly involved in. Plastic, particularly single use plastic, threatens the health of our rivers, lakes, oceans, marine life and eventually human life. We want to protect ourselves and our home around the Thames and we want you to join the movement to make this happen.
The Film A Plastic Ocean is a powerful 45 minute documentary which sets out the scale of the problem worldwide and how we all need to change the way we use plastic. The Festival will showcase a series of events from April to September 2017 in London incorporating film screenings of A Plastic Ocean, marine and riverine clean ups, stand up paddle boarding, and educational talks by scientists. Watertrek are one of the lead partners for this event along with Active360, Plastic Oceans and Brunel University. There will be many opportunities to see the film and get involved.
The first event is in Paddington on 22nd April hosted by Paddington Central. Other events are planned around London and these will all be listed www.plasticoceanfestival.com/events/ as well as on our calendar
