Want to take action for water or develop a project, but not sure where to start?
Whether you are a single person, a group or a company, come and meet us to create your own outdoor scientific and artistic action. We will take the time to explore your ideas, your aspirations, and your local environment before co-designing an initiative that truly reflects who you are.
Our Cruising the Anthropocene conference (approximately 2 hours long) is the starting point of this journey. It introduces you to the Watertrek world and helps define how we can work together.
Connecting with an ecosystem begins with a physical experience. Whether you choose to explore on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) - a modern descendant of the traditional Hawaiian paddleboard once used by Polynesian royalty - or on foot along a riverbank, lakeshore, or beach, every journey becomes an opportunity to reconnect with nature.
During your expedition, you will collect information about the quantity, origin, and types of pollution found in aquatic environments. These observations are shared with our scientific partners (Surfrider Foundation Europe, FreshWater Watch (University of Oxford), DryRivers (INRAE) and CEREMA).
These citizen science initiatives focus on mapping environmental data rather than organising clean-up operations, and directly contribute to three of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Nothing has a greater impact than a work of art or a compelling story. What moves us connects us, and brings us together.
Whether you express yourself through photography, dance, installation art, upcycling, painting, music, or any other creative medium, Watertrek and its network of professional artists will support you in developing a collaborative artistic approach that unlocks your imagination and fosters an emotional connection with the living world.
"The ecological crisis is above all a crisis of sensitivity (...) a diminishing of our capacity to feel, perceive, understand, and build relationships with the living world."
Baptiste Morizot, Ways of Being Alive (Manières d'être vivant, Actes Sud)
Sharing your project with your community, telling your story, and showcasing your creative work are powerful ways to inspire others to take action.
Watertrek provides a range of communication tools - including social media, our blog, and the Action Guide - to help promote your initiative, extend its reach, and build a community of citizens united by shared environmental values.
