In 2022, 5 paddlers completed a long-distance expedition across Belgian Flanders. They reached the sea at Nieuwpoort after collecting around 100 kilograms of waste per day on 4 different rivers.
This expedition was an opportunity to make a giant snake from 400 plastic bottles – a construction approximately 50m long – towed on the surface of the water to show the toxicity contaminating our rivers.
It also helped the shooting of a documentary movie around 20 minutes presenting the “eco-adventure” developed by Watertrekers. This movie is a relevant example of the sports, scientific and artistic processes valued by the association.
