From a few days to several weeks in your building lobby, possibly in addition to a conference
WATERTREK paddlers picked up many orphan shoes along their expeditions. How did this waste end up in the water? Is our world limping along, overwhelmed by too much waste, losing foot to the point where it no longer knows how to move? Are we symbolically amputated from a part our ourselves, the part that connects us to the other living things, to Mother Earth, to our sensitive and sensory nature, essential to our well-being and balance?
What is suggested here is a genuine questioning of our lifestyles, our relationship with waste and consumption, our contact with the ground and the earth, and our mutual dependencies.
The Impaires exhibition takes the form of a stroll. Participants are invited to experience imbalance on wooden logs and encouraged to reflect on their own connection to the ground, barefoot, wearing shoes… or on one leg.
